Inspired by his father’s small workshop that produced sorghum brooms, Salem began investing in machinery to create a brush-making factory in 1981. By 1998, Salem increased his production capacity, added more cleaning product lines, founded the trading company El Helal & Golden Star Egypt for Household Products, and created one of Egypt’s most valuable and trusted brands. In the 2000s, he expanded his business by establishing more factories that produced detergents, plastic household products, cartons, and cookware. Currently, Helal Group is the largest manufacturer of household products in Egypt. All of the product ranges are home-oriented and include 1,500 products. Since its inception, the Helal name has been synonymous with quality and trust in the products it manufactures. The company’s main objective is to ensure that any product that carries the name and logo of Helal guarantees quality and trust. Certifications All our factories are certified ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015. The ISO 9001 establishes an internationally recognized quality management system that aims to provide products and services that meet customer needs and focuses on enhancing customer satisfaction through adopting a specified process. Our commitment to our employees, business partners, and customers is the reason why we strive to constantly improve and evolve our management system to provide the best quality possible. The ISO 14001 is an environment management system that deals with providing organizations with a framework that protects the environment while fulfilling its socio-economic needs. It is used by organizations to enhance their environmental performances. Protecting the environment and safeguarding it for future generations is also one of our priorities and that is why we implemented the ISO 14001. Special Projects Helal Group had a special project and collaboration with Copenhagen Election A/S, which is a well-established company that focuses on providing electoral materials to international organizations and parliamentary elections worldwide. In 2012, our company was chosen to be the manufacturer of the ballot boxes that were used in the Presidential Elections. Over the course of the elections in 2012 and 2013, we manufactured and delivered 160,000 ballot boxes to the Ministry of Interior of Egypt to be used all over the country. This project has been a source of pride for our company since we had a small part in serving our nation in its transition. Exhibits We are annual exhibitors in Ambiente Messe Frankfurt. It is the world’s most important consumer goods trade fair with visitors from 167 countries from Europe, Asia, and others. We are currently exhibiting our Grandi cookware line and we hope to enter with our cleaning and plastic lines in the future.
